Our New Practice

The start of an exciting future

After what seemed to be an endless hunt, we have found the perfect premises for our new practice – 3A Hursley Road in Chandlers Ford. The unit is exactly what we were looking for. A large retail frame display and reception area, brightly lit and spacious with a smaller room to the side exactly the right size for an ophthalmic consulting room. Additionally outside there is a lot of parking, two spaces in front of the store and three more in the general parking area.

So we have started ordering in equipment, non-stop painting (gallons of white emulsion and gloss have been used!), putting in doors, plumbing in a sink, building a work surface to mount our rigid lens polishing unit, putting up a black out blind, building the frame bars and installing the frame bar lighting.

Tomorrow we must be on-site at 7.00 am (!) in case the BT hub arrives and there is no one there to welcome it. On the other hand it may not turn up until after 5.00 pm, nobody seems to know!.

Lynne and I have worked hard together getting ready and as usual, we are making an excellent team. So much to do and so little time, really exhausting but very satisfying. We have booked our first appointments for Wednesday 21 November so I hope the testing lenses arrive before then, they are coming from Italy but the supplier will not be drawn into giving us a precise delivery date.
